Ms. Blank with her family

This week's Staff Spotlight for Ceresco is Monica Blank. She is the Title I Reading Teacher & Instructional Coach at Ceresco Elementary.  Ms. Blank went to college at Peru State College where she completed her Bachelor's Degree and Wayne State College where she got her master's Degree. She has taught for 4 years in Lincoln as a preschool teacher prior to teaching at Raymond Central. When asked why she became a teacher she responded "It's actually a little ironic that I became a public school teacher because I was homeschooled from Kindergarten through High School. I have always enjoyed working with young people and want to show them how valuable education is no matter what your background is." Ms. Blank's advice for students would be to just relax and enjoy life. Don't get caught up in the little things that are insignificant in the big picture of life. There is so much good out there, sometimes you just have to learn to see it; and when you don't see it, be it. The last question she was asked was her favorite memory at Ceresco Elementary. She responded "My favorite memory at Ceresco is our tradition of having the fifth grade students walk the halls for the last time as an elementary student. It makes me happy and sad at the same time."
