Mrs. Nelson is a para at Raymond Central High School and has been for the past few years. For her, it was easy to decide to become a para because she was working in various natural resources fields but when she had her daughters, she wanted to be home and on the same schedule as much as possible. She also likes working with young people and enjoys the school setting.
When asked what have you learned from being in your position she said, "I have learned that every person has their own talent and I enjoy seeing young people find their own path. I also learned that patience and tolerance are so important in helping students learn."
In 10 years she is hoping to be retired and do more traveling, reading, gardening, and cooking/baking. But she will always miss the people she has met along the way.
