Staff Spotlight: Mrs. Dowding

This week's staff spotlight is... Mrs. Dowding! Her favorite thing about RC is the community. Ever since her first day the students and staff had been very welcoming, seeing how everyone cares for the students and their successes inside and outside of school. Being a teacher wasn't always what she had wanted to be while growing up. She had originally wanted to be a Pediatric Oncologist, until she realized she wanted to be a teacher in high school. If she wasn't a teacher she would mostly likely want to be somewhere in the medical field. One thing that students would find surprising about her would be that she was a 1st grade teacher last year and she has her degree in Elementary Education. What makes a 'good day' at RC for her would be being around her students and also being able to joke around with them. "They definitely keep each day interesting!". If she could enroll in another teacher's class it would be one of Mrs. Schaffer's classes working with robots. Some advice that she would tell her students would be "The years go quickly. Before you know it you will be a senior that is graduating. Take in every moment and work hard to be your best self and the best student you can be, and don't be afraid to ask for help when you need it! ", well said Mrs. Dowding!
